An 85-year-old pedestrian died Wednesday morning after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing a Cobb County road.

The man, identified as Kap Suh of Kennesaw, was pronounced dead at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital after the collision, according to Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk.

Suh was walking across Chastain Road at Kennesaw State University Road about 7:15 a.m., Delk said.

Christopher Bowen, 53, of Cartersville, was driving a Chevrolet box truck on Chastain Road, according to Delk. Craig Jackson, 54, of Acworth, was in the vehicle with him.

When a traffic signal turned green for Bowen’s vehicle, he drove forward and the front of his truck hit Suh, knocking him into the intersection, Delk said.

Neither Bowen nor Jackson was injured in the incident. Police are still investigating the crash.
