A 20-year-old woman is dead after a personal watercraft wreck on Lake Lanier Saturday afternoon, officials said.

Authorities identified the woman as Kaylynn Ticas of Lawrenceville.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Hall County fire department responded to the crash about 2:30 p.m., according to Hall fire spokesman Zach Brackett.

The DNR said Ticas was riding the watercraft at a high rate of speed and hit the shoreline at the lake. Bystanders pulled her from the water and she was taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where she later died.
