Water was being restored about 5 p.m. Monday to 200 homes in the Duluth area.

Water was cut off in the area about 10 a.m. so crews could repair a water main leak.

“The leak wasn’t as bad as thought, so the repair went well,” said Joe Sorenson, communications director for Gwinnett County, said about 5 p.m. ” The water dept. is bring the water back up to pressure right now. Service should be normalizing soon.”

Initially, officials had predicted that the water outage could last 10 to 12 hours.

The affected streets include Partridge Trail, Whipporwill Circle, Pheasant Trail, Meadow Church Way, Duluth Highway, Northmonth Parkway, McDaniel Road, Cardinal Lake Drive, Bunton Road, Willowstone Drive, Staunton Drive and Brookhaven Run Circle. Sugarloaf Mills was not affected.
