A fugitive wanted in the fatal shooting of a man in Cleveland last August was arrested in Marietta Friday morning, according to authorities.

Byron James, 27, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. James had been sought by Cleveland police since August 2012 for allegedly shooting a man to death in that city.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force learned that James was hiding with family in the Atlanta area, authorities said.

Early Friday, marshals arrested James at a Marietta apartment without incident, investigators said. He will be extradited to Ohio to face the homicide charge.
