A woman says she’s still trying to clean up a mess outside her Stonecrest home after a group of people crashed a stolen car into the side of it and ran away, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Maureen Walker, the owner of the home on Rogers Crossing Drive, told the news station the incident happened about 5 a.m. Friday and caused the whole house to shake.
She said she went outside and saw an overturned Acura SUV that had gone airborne after trying to make a turn in the subdivision. The vehicle had bounced off the outside of her living room, Channel 2 reported.
Nobody inside the home was hurt during the incident, Channel 2 reported.
Walker said she wanted to help the people in the car, but they had all run away before anyone could check on them.
“It wasn’t until the police came and that’s when we found out the car was reported stolen,” she told the news station.
Surveillance video shows the same Acura in a subdivision just minutes earlier, Channel 2 reported. The car appears to be a lookout vehicle, while a man goes into the driveway of a home and pulls on the door handles of another car, the news station reported.
DeKalb County police have not said if the people inside of the car have been located, Channel 2 reported.
The owner of the stolen car said the vehicle is totaled and is no longer driveable.
