Cherokee County authorities are searching for a Canton woman who reportedly cut her wrists and ran into woods after an argument with her boyfriend.

Police have been searching for Starla Holloway Triplett, 25, since around 9:30 p.m. Monday night.

The woman’s boyfriend called deputies to the entrance of the Taylor Farm subdivision in Canton and told police the couple were in a car and had an argument. According to the boyfriend, Triplett cut her wrist and ran into some nearby woods.

Deputies have used dogs to search the area, as well as a helicopter from the Georgia State Patrol. Cherokee Fire and Emergency Services, Cherokee County Search and Rescue, the Holly Springs Police Department and Georgia State Patrol Aviation are helping in the search.

Triplett’s wounds are not considered life threatening, police said. Triplett also has misdemeanor warrants out for her arrest for failure to appear in court, police said.

Anyone with information about Triplett’s whereabouts are asked to call 911.
