Officials in DeKalb County are still trying to identify a woman nearly a month after her body was discovered along a Lithonia road.

DeKalb police are hoping a new sketch will help uncover the mystery surrounding her identity. Investigators on Wednesday released the sketch by a GBI forensic artist showing what the woman might have looked like when she was alive.

The body was found March 22 near the intersection of Rockland and Plunkett roads, according to DeKalb police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent.

“Investigators have not been able to identify her through conventional means,” Vincent said. “Currently, there is no person reported missing that fits her description.”

It is not clear how the woman, who is believed to be between 35 and 45 years old, died or how long her body had been at the location before it was found, Vincent said. DeKalb police are awaiting the results of an autopsy.

Police described the woman as roughly 5-foot-2 and just 80 pounds. She had short black hair and brown eyes and was wearing blue jeans, a khaki-colored shirt, a black jacket and Spider-Man socks when her body was found.

Anyone with information about the woman’s identity is asked to call the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office at 404-508-3500.
