Cobb County police are investigating two fatal crashes, one on Saturday and another on Sunday.
In the first crash, William G. Howe, 25, of Marietta, was killed after his Suzuki motorcycle collided with a car around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Dana Pierce said in an emailed statement.
Howe was traveling eastbound on Robinson Road toward Lecroy Drive at the same time the driver of an Infiniti I35 was turning left onto Robinson Road. The Infiniti was turning out of the parking lot when it was struck on the left side by the motorcycle.
Howe was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Hours later, a single-vehicle crash killed a male driver early Sunday morning near Kennesaw. That crash happened shortly after midnight on Barrett Lakes Boulevard near Chastain Road.
The unidentified male was driving a white 2007 Ford F-150 truck southbound, at a slow speed, on Barrett Lakes Boulevard when the truck left the roadway and drove into a wood line on the western side of Barrett Lakes Boulevard, according to police and witnesses. Witnesses found the truck’s driver unconscious inside the truck. He was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators say they are not sure yet why the truck left the roadway.
Anyone with information about either crash is asked to call 770-499-3987.
