DeKalb County and Emory University police are combining resources to investigate multiple sexual assaults near the campus.

Police from both agencies have identified three open cases of attempted sexual assaults off-campus that could be connected to an on-campus rape that happened Feb. 11.

All of the victims were young women walking alone in the area of the campus, but not on university property, according to a news release from DeKalb police. DeKalb’s open cases happened between December and January, and in each of those cases, the women were not physically injured and were able to fend off their attacker.

The description of the man in all three cases — a white man in his mid-to-late 50s who is about 5-foot-10 — is consistent with that of the most recent report, police said. A sketch of the suspect has been released.

Anyone who has any information on the case should contact Emory police at 404-727-6111 or the DeKalb County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit at 770-724-7710.
