Dozens of people were stranded Sunday night after a severe storm detached two docks at a Lake Lanier marina.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said 30 to 40 people were set afloat at the Aqualand Marina around 7:30 p.m., when waves and winds overturned two ramps leading to the R and S docks.

“There were no known injuries reported during this incident,” spokesman Lt. Scott Ware said.

The sheriff’s office marine units, the Department of Natural Resources and Hall County firefighters assisted in getting everyone safely to shore, Ware said.

In other news:

The lake is about 3 feet above its normal summer level.
