One person died in an early morning car wreck involving 11 vehicles, officials said.

The wreck happened about 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Channel 2 Action News reported. All lanes of I-75 near Mount Zion Boulevard were blocked for nearly five hours while police investigated.

Several of the vehicles involved in the wreck sustained major damage, police said. Some victims were taken to local hospitals with injuries. It is unclear how many people were involved in the wreck.

The victims’ names are not being released at this time, police said.
