Boomer’s back.

The blind and nearly deaf Boston Terrier, stolen during a DeKalb County burglary on Friday, is back home.

Channel 2 Action News reported early Tuesday that the 11-year-old dog was reunited with owner Ashley Curlette overnight.

The dog was dropped off safely outside a Decatur home, and that homeowner, having heard Booker’s story, contacted Curlette.

Curlette, who teaches at St.Pius X High School, was at work Friday when, according to a DeKalb police incident report, a neighbor of hers on Browning Trace noticed her front door standing wide open and called police.

Responding officers noticed forced entry into the home, which had been ransacked.

Missing were a television, an iPad, about $1,000 in jewelry and Boomer.

“He was in his crate and they took both the crate and the dog,” Curlette told Channel 2 in an email.

“He has very severe cataracts and is completely blind,” Curlette said of Boomer. “He’s starting to go deaf, and oftentimes, he is disoriented.”
