A fugitive who is the primary suspect in a homicide in Texas was arrested Friday in Stone Mountain.

Mervin Richard Haye allegedly killed a man after a heated argument outside of a Houston night club on Jan. 31, U.S. Marshals Service spokesman Gavin Duffy said in an emailed statement.

Haye is a Jamaican national who has been living illegally in the United States for several years, Duffy said. Federal law officers found him living under an alias in Stone Mountain early Friday and took him to the DeKalb County Jail. Immigration and Customs Enforcement assisted in the arrest, Duffy said.

“Mervin Haye did a decent job of hiding and staying under the radar,” Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Keith Booker said. “But because of ICE’s role, we were able to get him off the streets despite his best efforts to conceal his identity.”
