Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall outraised his rivals in the latest fundraising disclosures in the race to succeed Kasim Reed as mayor of Atlanta, though City Council President Ceasar Mitchell remains the fundraising leader and has the most cash on hand.

Hall, who got in the race just days before the first candidate forum sponsored by the Buckhead Coalition in January, raised $308,608 in the most recent period, which ended March 31. He has raised a total of $313,034 and had $238,549 on hand.

Atlanta City Councilwoman Mary Norwood followed Hall, raising almost $276,000 in the period.

Norwood, the frontrunner in the race according to a Channel 2 Action News poll in March, had $532,832 on hand and has raised $682,534 to date.

“The significant grassroots support I have from voters in every part of our city is extraordinary and I am extremely grateful,” Norwood said in a release. “This wave of contributions is a compelling indicator that Atlanta citizens want me to bring transparency to City Hall and transportation solutions and prosperity to all Atlantans.”

Mitchell added $128,360 to his campaign during the period, bringing his total haul to almost $1.394 million. He had $720,752 on hand.
