Police are searching for an Atlanta man believed to be responsible for a homicide outside an Athens nightclub last month.
Corey Antwan Blount, 33, of Atlanta, has warrants out in Athens-Clarke County charging him with felony murder, malice murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to Athens-Clarke County police.
Blount is the alleged gunman in a May 10 shooting on Commerce Road that left Derrick Merritt, 22, dead and Jamaris Walter, 22, wounded. Both Athens residents are believed to have been innocent bystanders.
The case is under investigation and Blount is also wanted in Fulton County for probation violation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and an unrelated traffic offense..
Police say Blount is an almost six foot tall, 210 pounds black man with a tattoo covering his left forearm. Anyone with any information is requested to call 706-613-3342.
