An Atlanta fire lieutenant is accused of driving drunk and trespassing on a Coweta County property, where he allegedly also took flags, according to police.

Lt. Jason Johnson was arrested in late March after he allegedly drove wildly just outside of Newnan, according to the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.

The deputy who made the arrest said "he could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person," according to the police report obtained by Channel 2 Action News. Johnson was charged with DUI, reckless driving, criminal trespass and theft by taking.

In addition to allegedly driving drunk, investigators said Johnson used his truck to fling mud outside a home and took American and Georgia Bulldogs flags, Channel 2 reported. He was arrested after his truck got stuck in a ditch, police said.

Johnson does not drive a fire truck for the Atlanta department, but as a lieutenant, he is second in command at a fire station. He has been reassigned to another position.
