The Black History Month Juneteenth Atlanta Achievement Gala is going to have a little something for everyone.

“Join us at Club Bravo 56 for our Inaugural Black History Month, Juneteenth Atlanta Achievement Gala,” Juneteenth Atlanta’s website announced. “Come out for some serious networking with our Juneteenth Atlanta family. This is a call out for all families, community organizers, community activist, community businesses and just about everyone. We’re fired up and ready to roll!”

The event will feature performers, speakers, a raffle, networking events, hair competitions and more. And it all goes down Saturday, Feb. 25, from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 4525 Glenwood Road in Decatur.

“Come and allow us to get to know you, get to know us,” the organization said on social media. “This is our first public address after offering 10 years of service to our communities and making Juneteenth a national, state and city holiday. We would appreciate your support by not only coming but inviting your friends and family members to this monumental gala.”

Invited guests for the event include Hollywood A-lister Chris Tucker, Atlanta City Council’s Antonio Lewis and many others. Expect special performances from Edi Collier, Minister SKS and many more.

Juneteenth Atlanta has hosted community celebrations for Juneteenth since 2012, and long worked to have it recognized as a holiday. In 2021, Juneteenth was made a federal holiday. But this is the first year for the Black History Month-timed gala.

“Juneteenth Atlanta offers a three day music festival with four big stages and an Aboriginal Black History Parade that promotes Human Rights, Social Justice, Liberty, Judicial Reform, Reparations, Status Correction and Freedom!” according to the group’s website. “You’re invited to our first annual achievement, award and fundraising gala because you are Juneteenth Atlanta Family!”

Juneteenth Atlanta is a nonprofit 5013c and is considered one of the largest Juneteenth festivals in the U.S.
