One person has been arrested in connection with a burglary at baseball legend Hank Aaron’s home, Atlanta police said Monday night.

While Aaron, 79, and his wife were out of town in July, the couple's southwest Atlanta home was targeted by thieves who stole jewelry and two BMWs, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Officers later recovered both of Aaron's vehicles.

Investigators declined to release the name of the suspect due to the ongoing investigation, according to Sgt. Greg Lyon.

“We do anticipate additional arrests and will release all of that information when doing so will not hinder the investigation,” Lyon told The AJC late Monday.

Aaron was in New York for the All-Star game when he got a call from his alarm company. The following day, he asked a neighbor to check on his home, according to a police report.

The neighbor saw a broken window at Aaron’s house and called police, who arrived to find the home ransacked.

As an Atlanta Brave, Aaron broke Babe Ruth’s record of 714 career home runs on April 8, 1974. He hit his 755th and final home run on July 20, 1976, a home run record that stood for almost three decades.
