Carlos Jacinto Cobo-Perez, of Phoenix, was arrested May 17 and charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, according to court records.

The girl reportedly told police she skipped her after-school program "about a month ago" and had sex in Cobo-Perez's car near her school, KNXV reported.

The relationship was discovered in November by the girl's mother, the Republic reported.

"She was infatuated," the victim's mother told KNXV. "She didn't understand, she's a kid, and any person that's older than her can wrap her around their finger."

Police spoke to Cobo-Perez on Dec. 10, and he reportedly admitted to having the relationship, the television station reported. Cobo-Perez told police he would break off contact with the girl, according to court records.

On May 17, the girl was taken to a Phoenix hospital, where tests confirmed she was pregnant, the Republic reported.

Cobo-Perez's next court hearing is Tuesday, according to court records.
