April 8, 2015

A suspicious package investigation near Woodruff Park has been given the “all clear.”

The “package”, which was found behind a garbage can, was reported at about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at the downtown intersection of Auburn Avenue and Peachtree Street. Atlanta Police Department bomb technicians responded to the scene and temporarily closed the intersection before determining that the package was an unattended briefcase.

APD spokesman Sgt. Gregory Lyon said the scene was “all clear” shortly after 3 p.m.
