Headed to Truist Park for the All-Star Game on Tuesday?
Here is everything you need to know, from how to get there to what to wear to prepare for the weather:
Park entrances will open at 5 p.m., with the first pitch scheduled for around 8 p.m. There will be several events leading up to the 95th edition of the Midsummer Classic, so it will be very congested around the stadium, The Battery commercial district and the Cobb Galleria Centre.
Ahead of the game, the Capital One All-Star Village opens at 10 a.m., as it has since Saturday, at Cobb Galleria. You can indulge in the fan experiences until 6 p.m. The other big event is the All-Star Red Carpet Show at The Battery, starting at 2 p.m. Gates open at 1 p.m.
What does the forecast say?
We’re getting another round of very hot and muggy weather, and there is a higher chance for isolated showers this afternoon and evening.
“We’re going to keep our fingers crossed we’re not going to see any of those storms develop near Truist Park or The Battery later this afternoon, but there is a chance, about a 40% risk,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
Metro Atlanta highs are expected to peak in the mid-90s but will feel like 100 degrees or more thanks to the humidity. Temperatures are projected to stay in that 90-degree range through 5 p.m. in the city, with the heat index — a measure of how hot it really feels — expected to stay in the triple digits from about 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
By 6 p.m., temps should finally fall to about 89 degrees but will still feel like the upper 90s.
Lightweight and light-colored clothing — think whites, beiges and pastels — will help you withstand the heat, because lighter colors reflect sunlight. But retreat to the shade if you’re overheating, which can happen easily when humidity is high.
And pack a water bottle to stay hydrated. You can take a sealed plastic bottle of water into the stadium. An umbrella or rain jacket is a good idea, too.
Getting to Truist Park
With so many people buzzing about, public transportation or ride-hailing services are going to be your best bet to avoid getting stuck in metro Atlanta’s infamous traffic snarls that will be exasperated with lane closures and detours.
CobbLinc is providing free shuttles every 30 minutes to help get fans to the action with ease. The expanded service will connect the Marietta Transfer Center to Truist Park and The Battery. Parking
If you insist on driving, be aware that general public parking will be available in selected lots, which will open on a staggered schedule. Spaces will fill up quickly.
For example, seven lots, including the Delta, Truist and Red decks, will open at noon. Lot 41 opens at 2 p.m. Another two lots will open at 3 p.m., followed by two more at 4 p.m., and the Silver Deck opens at 5 p.m.
Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods is by residential permit only, so pay attention to signage to avoid getting towed. And don’t ride home with someone and leave your car overnight. The rules vary by parking deck, so study the posted signs.

Security
No bags are allowed inside Truist Park, though some exceptions are made for medical bags, diaper bags and single-compartment clear bags that are no larger than 5-by-9 inches.
You will be scanned by a metal detector, and if you’re caught with a prohibited item, you will have to take it back to your car or it will be thrown away.
