The DeKalb County School District wants your feedback on the possible closure of more than two dozen school buildings.

The first of many in-person community meetings will be Monday night at the district offices. The first virtual meeting will start at noon.

The district released an early version of a plan to better use the district’s existing facility space and address the fact there’s currently room for 18,000 more students in the district. The initial plan would close 27 schools, add capacity to 11 and convert eight to serve different grades.

The plan is subject to change based on feedback the district collects in the coming weeks via an online survey, and virtual and in-person meetings.

“Our message is simple,” Interim Superintendent Norman Sauce has said. “We need to hear from everyone.”

Here’s how to weigh in:

You can review the information on the district’s website and fill out a survey.

In-person meetings will be at 6 p.m. Registration is not required.

Virtual meetings will be held at noon. Register for February meetings here, and March meetings here.
