Amazon said Tuesday that members of its Prime program can now get free two-hour delivery on most Whole Foods Market products in Atlanta.
The rapid delivery program is part of Amazon's effort to leverage the Whole Foods brand, which the e-commerce and tech giant bought last year for more than $13 billion. Amazon launched a similar service through Prime Now for Sprouts Farmers Market goods in Atlanta last year.
The new service, which also launched Tuesday in San Francisco and in four cities last month, is available daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the Prime Now app and website. Amazon and Whole Foods said most produce, meats, seafood, bakery and packaged goods are available.
Customers can enter their ZIP code into the app or website to determine if their neighborhood is eligible. A one-hour delivery option is also available for a $7.99 fee for orders of at least $35.
“Our goal is to offer as much breadth as possible and be sure that customers get everything they need off their shopping list,” Simoina Vasen, Amazon director of Prime Now, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
There are 12 Whole Foods and 365 branded stores in Georgia.
