Snow in metro Atlanta: Approaching winter storm moves into western Alabama

The winter storm is now one state away, as Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said at 8:30 a.m. that the leading edge of the snow had crossed into Alabama from Mississippi and was just west of Birmingham.

Metro Atlantans were bracing Wednesday morning for an afternoon winter storm that forecasters said could deliver dump several inches of snow across parts of the area. A winter storm warning goes into effect at 10 a.m. for 50 Georgia counties. Full story.
