Starr's Mill defeated Griffin 38-35 Friday in what was probably the state's biggest upset of the week. Griffin entered the game unbeaten and ranked No. 9 in Class AAAAA. According to the computer Maxwell Ratings, the Starr's Mill-Griffin is the ninth-biggest upset of the season to date. That is not necessarily based on how the result appeared at the time, but mainly how it stands up to all results this season. No. 1 is Stephenson (4-1) losing to Mount Zion of Jonesboro (2-4) on Sept. 12.
