Five head coaches have resigned since last week’s end to the regular season.

The latest is Lassiter’s Jep Irwin, who has stepped down after his ninth season at the Marietta school.

Lassiter won region titles in 2012 and 2013 and reached the Class AAAAA semifinals in 2011 under Irwin, but failed to make the playoffs the past two seasons and finished 1-9 this year.

Others confirmed to have resigned are Casey Wingard at Gilmer, Mark LeGree at Pacelli, Mike Davis at Fayette County and Terrance Banks at Newton. Camiel Grant is Newton's interim head coach during the playoffs.
