Lambert wins High School Invitational
Lambert High School shot a 5-over 221 win the 11th annual High School Invitational at the Atlanta Athletic Club.
The Longhorns scored a four-shot win over Gainesville, which had 225. Greater Atlanta Christian and Woodward Academy both shot 227 to tie for third placed on the historic Highlands Course.
Lambert was led by Jake Fendt, who shot a 71, along with a 74 from Brennan Bogdanovich and a 76 from Brett Barron.
Gainesville was led by medalist Spencer Ralston’s 69 and counted a 75 from Nathan Williams and an 81 from Lawson King.
Ralston started the day hot, making a birdie on three of his first four holes, and survived a stretch of three straight bogeys. The junior, who has already committed to Georgia, birdied two of his final four holes.

GAC got 74 from Ben Shipp, last year’s medalist, a 76 from Steffen Smith and a 77 from Davis Smith. Woodward Academy counted a 71 from Mitchell Kohlert, a 73 from George Stradtman and an 83 rom Connor Asarch.

Long wins AAC Girls Invitational
Sabrina Long, a senior at Cambridge High School, shot a 3-over 75 to win the Atlanta Athletic Club’s Girls Invitational.

Long finished one shot ahead of Kathleen Sumner of Bishop England (S.C.) and defending champion Bailey Tardy of Norcross. The girls competed on the club’s Riverside Course, former site of the U.S. Women’s Open.
“I didn’t think I was playing that well,” Long said. “I’m grateful to the Athletic Club for letting us play here. I haven’t won anything, even anything little, in a long time. So this feels really good.”
Long scrambled on the front nine, when she hit only one green in regulation.
“My putting saved me,” she said. “I made a lot of long putts.”
Newnan wins Greenway Trojan Invitational
Newnan shot a 591 to win the Greenway Trojan Invitational, played over the last two weeks at Sunset Hills in Carrollton.
Spalding and Northgate tied for second at 612, with Spalding winning the tiebreaker. Spaling was led by Tye Waller, a Georgia Tech signee. Preston Wise of Newnan finished second.
Rounding out the team scores were Walton at 622, Carrollton at 632, Darlington at 692 and Holy Innocents’ at 697.
