GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.
Stacy Nobles, West Laurens
1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach?"The most memorable game in my coaching career is without a doubt our 2014 2-AAAA region championship game played at Mary Persons High School. Unbelievable environment and a great football game. Very few people gave us a chance to win that game. The 21-14 victory gave us our first outright region championship in school history."
2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why?"There are lots of coaches I could mention for this question. Darren Alford worked with me the past five seasons as our offensive coordinator here at West Laurens. He is now the head coach at Schley County. I would love for my son to be able to play for Coach Alford because first and foremost he is a Christian that loves our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that he is going to do things the right way and demand that my child be the best player possible, but more importantly a man of character on and off the field."
3. What is your favorite saying/motto?"Don't Be...OUTWORKED!!!"
4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed?"I would change the rule regarding the first five days of practice in helmets. We spend the whole summer working out in helmets, so I feel that allowing the kids to practice in shells would benefit them greatly. I think that would be a great buffer before rolling straight into full-pads practice starting August 1."
