Football coaching changes: Prince Avenue hires Woodward coordinator

Prince Avenue replaces Herron with Vandagriff
Prince Avenue Christian has hired Woodward Academy defensive coordinator Greg Vandagriff as its head coach to replace Herron, who won three region championships in his three seasons at the Athens-area school.
Vandagriff had run Woodward’s defenses since 2005. Woodward reached the semifinals last season and held opponents to one touchdown or fewer in 10 of 14 games. Vandagriff was head coach at Campbell (1999-2000) and Kell (2003) and compiled an 8-22 record.
North Springs hires Alpharetta coordinator
North Springs has hired Alpharetta defensive coordinator Dan Devine as its head football coach. Devine has been a head coach in North Carolina at Hickory Grove Christian and Westminster Catawba Christian and won a state championship in 2010.
Alcovy promotes Edgar
Alcovy in Newton County has promoted Chris Edgar to head football coach. Edgar has been with Alcovy since its first season in 2006. Alcovy has made four playoff appearances but never advanced and was 1-19 the past two seasons.
