Pace Academy post man Wendell Carter, the consensus No. 1 basketball recruit among juniors, will be among several top prospects showcased on Friday and Saturday at the second annual Holiday Hoopsgiving at Holy Innocents’.

The event has attracted 21 boys teams and 10 girls teams participating in 24 games. Teams include nationally ranked Greenforest Christian and Westlake from Georgia and Alabama state champion Sacred Heart among boys and Class A Georgia powers Holy Innocents’ and St. Francis among girls.

Boys teams from IMG Academy and Potter’s House of Florida and Wasatch Academy of Utah also are participating. Potter’s House center Udoka Azubuike is a top-25 national recruit with offers from Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina.

Pace will play Westlake in a Saturday game at 8 p.m. Pace has a sophomore forward, Isaiah Kelly, who is a top-50 national recruit. Westlake features junior forward Chuma Okeke (offers from Georgia Tech, Georgia) and sophomore point guard Jamie Lewis (No. 31 player in class of 2018).

Other top players include Pebblebrook’s Jared Harper (committed to Auburn), Douglas County’s Brandon Robinson (North Carolina), McIntosh’s Jordan Lyons (Furman) and Greenforest Christian’s Ikey Obiagu (No. 10 sophomore nationally, per ESPN).

St. Francis’ girls have a pair of nationally ranked players, Kushkituah Kasiyah and Dodson Maya. Holy Innocents’ forward Erika Cassell is committed to N.C. State.
