Millsap was honored as part of the Champions Tour Kickoff , held on the campus of Grambling State University. The purpose of the event was to spotlight homegrown talent. Millsap was born in Monroe, attended Grambling High School and played college basketball at Louisiana Tech.
While in the state, Millsap donated $50,000 to Grambling High School and $30,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Louisiana. Millsap also attended several events and signed autographs during the trip. He was given the key to the city of Grambling by the mayor, honored by his high school and college and attended an AAU practice. He also stopped by Louisiana Tech to visit his coach Keith Richard.
Millsap re-signed with the Hawks this offseason after two all-star seasons with the team.
