Metro Atlanta will stay dry and cool for one more day before rain returns to the forecast.
The showers are arriving Thursday with the next weather system, which will park itself across the Southeast and make for several days of damp, cool weather, according to Channel 2 Action News. That could cause issues at Truist Park when the Braves return home for games 3 and 4 of the World Series.
At least for Wednesday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said there is no wet weather to worry about. Morning temperatures in the 40s are among the lowest North Georgia has recorded this month. Atlanta’s projected high is 72 degrees.
“We’ll have some upper 60s in the mountains, and low 70s pretty much everywhere else,” Monahan said. “That is pretty typical late October weather.”
Temperatures will be in the low 60s at 8 p.m. for those hoping to join the Game 2 watch party at The Battery, according to Channel 2. Monahan expects those numbers to fall into the 50s by midnight, making for a milder night of revelry than for Tuesday’s Game 1.
“Not quite as cold as last night, but still definitely going to want a jacket or sweatshirt if you’re headed out to The Battery for that watch party tonight,” he said.
Monahan said an area of low pressure will move in this direction starting Thursday, bringing cool and wet weather. Rain is 90% likely Thursday, and some of it could be heavy at times.
“We could see some rumbles of thunder, but I do not think we’ll have any severe weather here in North Georgia,” he said.
Gusty wind will be a possibility, however. The National Weather Service has scheduled a wind advisory for northwest Georgia to go into effect at 2 a.m. Thursday.
Both Friday and Saturday have 40% chances of rain, according to the latest forecast. The wet weather should be over and done by Halloween night, when Monahan expects temperatures in the the low 60s and 50s.

Traffic is expected to pick up around Truist Park later Wednesday, but it’s no picnic on the roads in Cobb County this morning, either, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
There are delays on I-75 South after a crash blocked two left lanes at the I-575 interchange, the Traffic Center reported. Commuters can use U.S. 41 or the I-75 express lanes to avoid the growing backups.
Trouble continues on I-575 South in Kennesaw, where a left lane is closed at Chastain Road.
“It will slow your roll out of Kennesaw,” the Traffic Center reported.
