Low humidity and near total sunshine should make Tuesday “the best day of the week so far,” according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan.

But it won’t be metro Atlanta’s greatest hit. Monahan said Wednesday and Thursday are also going to be beautiful days.

“Any outdoor plans you’ve got, go right ahead,” he said. “This is winning weather over the next few days.”

With a mostly clear sky in the forecast, Monahan expects North Georgia will enjoy 13 hours of sun both Tuesday and Wednesday. A little more cloud cover is in Thursday’s forecast, but it will still be a nice day as rain holds off, he said.

For at least the next few days, Monahan is calling for highs in the 80s. Tuesday’s projected high in Atlanta is 81 degrees. Wednesday should be the warmest day of the work week with a projected high of 83, according to Channel 2.

Those numbers are right on target for this time of year, Monahan said. Eventually, rain will return to the forecast, but he said it won’t amount to much. There is a 30% chance of a shower Friday and more rain is possible over the weekend.

“This is not washout weather,” Monahan said. “This is not washout rain, and by the weekend our temperatures are going to get a whole lot warmer.”

Atlanta’s projected high is 87 degrees on Sunday.
