Watch Atlanta’s skyline go dark in this eerie time lapse of the 2017 storms

Metro Atlanta saw some gruesome weather during 2017's tornado watch, from severe thunderstorms to flash floods to hail.

In west Midtown, former AJC digital producer Janay Kingsberry headed to the sixth floor of her Atlantic Station apartment building to shoot some footage of the brewing storm.

Kingsberry began filming at 11 a.m. and continued for 90 minutes, ultimately producing an eerie time lapse of the disappearing skyline sped up by 10,000 percent.

If you notice any shakiness midway through the video, Kingsberry said it’s due to her camera trying to adjust to the murky darkness.
