Metro Atlanta can rule out more snow after a storm brought record amounts of the white stuff to parts of metro Atlanta last week, according to Channel 2 Action News.
And temperatures are expected to rise next week, Channel 2 Action News Chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.
But first, a cold front is expected to put a serious chill in the air Friday.
By 5 a.m. Friday, metro Atlantans will see partly cloudy skies and temps in the mid-30s, Burns said.
But those clouds will increase as dry air moves in, keeping things cool, he said.
Temperatures will only reach the low 40s about noon and temps in the North Georgia mountains will be in the low 30s by mid-to-late afternoon.
The high Friday in Atlanta is expected to be 48 degrees, which is 6 degrees below the average for this time of year, Burns said.
“Bundle up (Friday) night before you head out,” Burns said.
After that, the trend in the next six to 10 days is warmer air heading toward Atlanta.
Expect a nice weekend warmup, Burns said, and that will continue into Monday and Tuesday, when temps will be in the 60s. The high is expected to increase to 55 Saturday, 58 Sunday and 64 Monday.
Currently, the temperature is 51 degrees, down from a high of 58.
