There’s a 30 percent chance of showers for Atlanta, while the North Georgia mountains will see a higher 60 percent chance today, according to Channel 2 Action News.
But “severe weather is not a concern for today,” Channel 2 meteorologist Katie Walls said.

A few scattered showers have begun in metro Atlanta, which is expected to hit a high of 90 degrees today. It’s currently 89, but it feels like it’s 94.
“The best opportunity for showers and storms will extend from northwest Georgia into the North Georgia mountains,” Walls said.
Friday could see more widespread storms with a 60 percent chance of rain, and that chance goes up to 70 percent for the start of the weekend, according to Channel 2.
