High hits mid-70s on first day of spring

It’s officially spring, and the temperatures are cooperating.

The average high for this time of year is 66 degrees, according to Channel 2 Action News. Metro Atlanta beat that before schools let out Monday. The high eventually reached 75.

Current temps are 76 degrees in Atlanta, 68 in Blairsville and 77 in Griffin.

“We’ll stay partly cloudy and dry overnight,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

It will be even warmer Tuesday, with a high of 80 degrees in Atlanta. There will also be a 30 percent rain chance.
