Storms in the forecast for Friday will largely be hit or miss later in the afternoon, according to Channel 2 Action News.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain for metro Atlanta, “but many areas, most areas, will stay dry for this Friday evening,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

The east side of metro Atlanta, however, is more likely to get isolated thunderstorms about 4 p.m. as temperatures increase, Channel 2 reported.

Currently, the temperature is 78 degrees in Atlanta.

The high is expected to reach 87 degrees, which is also the average high for this time of year, Channel 2 reported.

“Then as we head toward this evening, 9 o’clock, a stray shower (is) possible,” Nitz said. “But even that will be dissipating after sunset.”
