Drink plenty of water because today’s going to be hot and muggy.
After a stormy Friday night, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Glenn Burns said afternoon and evening storms are likely each and every day for the foreseeable future.
“It’s going to be the rule rather than the exception to see afternoon and evening showers and storms,” he said.
That rule will not be broken Saturday or Sunday, which both have rain chances at or above 30%. Both days should also peak at about 90 degrees.
The good news is that the isolated showers are expected to hold off until later this afternoon when temperatures start to heat up.
But with all that moisture comes humidity, Channel 2 meteorologist Eboni Deon said.
“It’s definitely the air you can wear because the moment you step outside, you will feel it on your skin,” she said.

If you have outdoor plans this weekend, today might be the day to tackle them since the showers will likely be more widespread on Sunday, Burns said.
Roads may be slick roads at times, but drivers won’t need to worry about construction delays. The Georgia Department of Transportation has suspended all construction projects until 10 p.m. Sunday due to the Fourth of July holiday.

That’s especially good news for sports fans, since both Atlanta United and the Braves are in town this weekend.
After Friday’s late night walk-off, the Braves take on the Miami Marlins again this afternoon at SunTrust Park. First pitch is set for 1:20 p.m.

The hot and sticky weather persists through next week, Burns said, but temperatures should be a little more mild than they were on the Fourth of July. Daily high temperatures should hover at or near 90 degrees.
