Temperatures hit a high of 93 degrees, which is the hottest day so far this year, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologists.
Currently, it’s 84 degrees in Atlanta and meteorologists expect the weather to stay warm overnight.
Thursday will start out clear and warm, with temperatures in the mid 70s, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
The average high for this time of year is 89 degrees.
No rain is expected and the high on Thursday is 94 degrees, which if reached would become the hottest day so far this year.
According to the latest forecast, rain chances are slim — 10 percent, to be exact.
“Now we were clear this morning,” Nitz said. “As we’ve been heating up, the atmosphere becomes a little more unstable, so we start to pick up a few clouds and those isolated showers.”
Showers and storms are more likely Wednesday afternoon on the Southside, according to Channel 2.
“But most of us are going to stay dry today and over the next few days,” Nitz said.
