It’s hard to believe this is the last week of June.

Through Sunday, there had been only three days of temperatures in the 90s in June. By this point last year, metro Atlanta had seen 18 days of temperatures in the 90s.

“Where’s the heat?” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan asked.

Apparently, it’s not in metro Atlanta.

In fact, the mornings will be cool this week, according to the latest forecast.

“It won’t be that tropical, heavy, humid air,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Metro Atlanta had its coolest start Monday since late May, she said.

Unlike last week, when metro Atlanta saw days of rain, Monday has been quiet.

“For now, we’re enjoying lots of sunshine,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “A nearly completely blue sky.”

Atlanta reached the expected high of 85 degrees, which is just shy of the average high of 88 for this time of year, Channel 2 reported.

The next chance of rain isn’t until Thursday, according to the news station.
