Temperatures came close to record levels Tuesday afternoon, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The record high for this day, set in 2015, is 75 degrees.

“We'll get close to that today but fall just short,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Temperatures were 63 degrees in Atlanta, 45 degrees in Blairsville and 64 degrees in Griffin just after 10 p.m.

Spotty and isolated showers are possible through the evening, meteorologist Brad Nitz said. And the clouds are expected to stick around.

Earlier on Tuesday, fog led to multiple crashes on metro interstates and delays at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

A dense fog advisory was lifted at 9 a.m. Tuesday, but clouds remained for a time. BRANDEN CAMP / SPECIAL
