Clouds didn’t keep Atlanta from reaching 80-degree weather Thursday.

And that warm and mostly dry weather is expected to continue through Friday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Currently, the temperature is 78 degrees in Atlanta. Temps earlier reached 82, just missing the expected high of 85. The average high for this time of year is 84, Channel 2 reported.

Despite an earlier prediction of rain, Atlanta remained dry all day. However, areas south of I-20 got showers and thunderstorms.

Meteorologist Katie Walls has your Thursday evening weather forecast.

The best chance metro Atlanta has for upcoming showers and storms is Sunday, when the rain chance is at 60 percent, Channel 2 reported.

Until then, the metro area faces only a 20 percent chance of showers Friday and a 30 percent chance Saturday. Showers are expected to continue into next week.
