For a summer day, Thursday got off to a refreshing start.
The temperature was in the 60s and the air was dry. And that comfortable weather, according to Channel 2 Action News, is expected to stick around for a little bit.
“Now there may be a few clouds that drift in over northeast Georgia,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said. “May be a few sprinkles.”
However, the “trend is for the dry weather to stay with us for a couple of days,” she said.
The current temperature is 82 degrees in Atlanta.
By the evening, temperatures should remain in the 80s as more dry air enters the metro area, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.
Temps are expected to return to the 60s early Friday.
“Lower humidity is going to keep things quite nice for us,” Minton said.
Rain chances are at 20 percent this weekend, but that could change with the arrival of Hurricane Harvey, according to Channel 2.
