It’s sunny and warm outside, perfect for last-minute holiday shopping.

You “cannot beat it out there right now,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Temperatures surpassed the 52-degree average high for this time of year. They were 60 in Atlanta, 51 in Blairsville and 61 in Griffin just before 6 p.m.

Temps will be even higher this weekend, with some areas hitting the 70s, meteorologists said.

Highs are expected to reach 67 degrees on Christmas Eve and 68 on Christmas Day.

The next possibility of rain is a 20 percent chance of light showers Saturday.
