Spring’s official Sunday start brought colder temperatures than in much of March.

“It feels more like winter, at least more than it has over the last couple of weeks,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Rain showers, wintery mixes and even snow was a possibility in the north Georgia mountains Sunday night.

No accumulation was expected on road surfaces and metro Atlanta was expected to stay dry, Monahan said.

The high for Sunday was 56 degrees, but Monday’s temperatures were expected to start out in the mid-30s, before hitting the same high, Monahan said.

By Tuesday morning a cold start of about 36 degrees will warm to a high of 66. Wednesday weather should feel more like spring, with a low of 46 and a high of 71 degree that will grow to a high of 76 degrees Thursday, Monahan said.

While the days ahead are expected to bring mostly sunny skies, a 30 percent chance of rain showers exist Thursday afternoon, Monahan said. Friday may bring some showers and storms, as well.
