Monday got off to a cool start and temperatures in the 50s can be expected in parts of the state Tuesday morning, according to Channel 2 Action News.

But don’t think summer is finished yet.

Above-average temperatures are set to return later this week — just as it was beginning to feel like fall, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“Temperatures are going to start to warm up from here,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “A lot of sunshine through the week. Warmer temperatures.”

Currently, the temperature is 71 degrees in Atlanta, the news station reported.

Cool, high pressure along the northeast coast should keep temps in the 70s, Monahan said.

Sunday may even feel a little humid, Monahan said.
