Travel site TripAdvisor has compiled a list of the top 10 islands in the country, and  the list comes from the Traveler's Choice Awards.

The Traveler's Choice Awards determined winners in different categories from an algorithm that accessed the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings and booking interest on the travel site in the past 12 months, according to a Tuesday news release.

The top 10 islands in the country are listed below:

10. Mackinac Island (Michigan)

9. Chincoteague Island (Virginia)

8. Marco Island (Florida)

7. Amelia Island (Florida)

6. Hilton Head (South Carolina)

5. Mount Desert Island (Maine)

4. Island of Hawaii (Hawaii)
