Georiga Tech women’s basketball defeated Clemson Wednesday in the first round of the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, 61-52.

The tenth-ranked Yellow Jackets held the Tigers to shoot 14-of-29 from the floor and 4-of-18 beyond the arc at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC. Georiga Tech, by contrast, shot 24-of-52 from the field and were more conservative beyond the arc, sinking 3-of-7.

Guard Francesca Pan led Georiga Tech in scoring with 18 points, three rebounds and one assist in 35 minutes followed by Kierra Fletcher with 12 points and Elo Edeferioka with 10 points and five rebounds off the bench.

The Yellow Jackets advance to the second-round of the ACC Tournament and will face the Virginia Cavaliers Thursday at 6 p.m. at Greensboro Coliseum.
