Georgia outfielder Kendall Burton shared her emotional road to the WCWS with ESPN reporter Wayne Drehs.

Burton was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. The outfielder began her career at UTSA after her 23rd surgery, however Burton suffered a stroke after playing one game.

The next season with UTSA she started every game in center field with a team-high 69 hits.

Burton transferred to Georgia after a visit to Athens before Thanksgiving 2016.

Burton and her Georgia teammates start their journey in the 2018 WCWS against Florida on Thursday, May 31, at 7 p.m. on ESPN 2.
